Description

The 100,000 Rial banknote from Iran, issued by the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic, showcases intricate designs and significant historical symbolism. The note features a prominent portrait of Ayatollah Khomeini, a key figure in Iran's revolution. Notably, the background is rich with geometric patterns typical of Islamic art, incorporating various shades of green which symbolize prosperity and growth. As a legal tender, this note also incorporates several security features to prevent counterfeiting, making it not only a symbol of currency but also a piece of art.

Obverse (front)
The front of the 100,000 Rial banknote prominently displays a detailed portrait of Ayatollah Khomeini, framed by elegant decorative elements that embody traditional Persian art. An intricate geometric pattern in soft green hues fills the background, intertwining with circular designs that enhance the aesthetic appeal. The note also includes the denomination in both Arabic and Persian, highlighted in red, along with a watermark visible when held against the light. Security features such as microprinting and a transparent window enhance its authenticity, ensuring it is both a recognizable currency and a collectible item.

Reverse (back)
On the reverse side, the design complements the front by featuring the denomination again, surrounded by ornamental patterns. The upper section of the note carries the bank's name and a watermark that depicts the intricate artistry typical of Iranian money. Various security elements, including a security thread and color-shifting ink, are deployed to prevent forgery. The overall color palette of greens and cream creates a harmonious look, while the back of the note focuses on traditional motifs that celebrate Iran's rich cultural heritage.
